FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
Don't
you have to be really fit?
All we ask is that you can swim at least 50 metres in open water and don't
consider yourself to be seriously unfit. As long as you alert us on the
Booking Form to any medical conditions you may have, we then help you
to enjoy your Extreme Sport to your individual level. And you can stop
and pick up at any time. No one will force you to do anything!
Won't
the sea be cold?
The weather temperatures in this part of the world speak for themselves
and the Canaries are renowned for year round sunshine. But if you are
concerned about spending long periods in the water then don't. We are
fully equipped with the most technically advanced wetsuits, which, trust
us keep you very warm indeed!
I'd
love to come with my family but we have young children, will they be able
to do it?
Our minimum age limit for tuition is 7yrs for surfing and 10yrs for windsurfing
and this is widely recognised for beginners across the board. But if your
children are under 7yrs and can already hold their own in an Extreme Sport
then they are welcome to join in fully.
Younger children can partake in the whole holiday too by body boarding
in shallows while you have your Extreme Tuition and children absolutely
love doing this activity. Or they can be looked after in our Beach cresche
or the hotel Kids club.
How
much Extreme Sport will I be doing each day?
To get the most out of your holiday our expert instructors recommend about
4 hours Extreme Tuition per day. This could naturally split into two hours
in the morning, with a good- sized break for lunch and again 2 hours during
the afternoon but your holiday can be more flexible than this.
You can organise your tuition with the instructors, who will advise you
about the best times for your extreme sport each day as they are dependant
on wind and tides. So you can do as much or as little as you want!
I've
got my own board?
If you'd prefer to use your own equipment then just let us know on the
Booking Form. You may be liable for airline carriage of the equipment
(about £15-£30) but we will let you know at time of flight
booking.
I
don't want to eat in all the time but I won't have much spending money,
what are the restaurants like?
Don't worry, Caleta de Fuste has an array of restaurants to suit all tastes
and budgets and they are only a walk away. It is a lovely town and the
hotel is right in the middle of it.
What
else is there to do?
You want more! We have wakeboards and body boards and there are several
good PADI diving centres around the island for those with limitless energy
and of course many beautiful, unspoilt beaches to discover. Plus mountain
biking, dirt bikes, trips to Lobos or neighbouring Lanzarote and a beautiful
5 star Golf Course just by our accommodation.
Caleta de Fuste has many good restaurants, bars and clubs to unwind in
and nice areas from which to people watch. A marina and a wonderful golden
sandy bay with volley ball courts and tennis courts close by.
What
if there is no Wind or no Waves?
That is something that we cannot guarantee and although Fuerteventura
has formidable year round conditions, there will be occasions when Mother
Nature falls short. But never fear! Each of the Extreme Sports needs different
conditions so if wind is lacking there may well be waves and vice versa.
On a windsurfing holiday, you could always try surfing for a day. Failing
that we are readily stocked with body boards, and wakeboards and for all
of you who have not tried these, they are awesome fun for beginners and
advanced alike. Our 4x4's are always up for a mission and if you'd prefer
a 4x4 safari day can be organised if the weather is lacking. So as you
can see you will have an Extreme Holiday in every sense of the word!
