THE EXTREME TEAM - INSTRUCTOR BIOS
Meet the guys and girls!
Richie - Dom - Eurico - Lol - Dazza - Sophie - Ant - Lee - Stav - Ross - Jed - Alex - Donnie - Chris - Jimmy
Sophie is the newest addition to our team, and since joining last summer has more than lived up to the hype! Despite the fact that she is completely fearless, and will push herself to surf waves most mortals wouldn't dare, Sophie's a playful character and enjoys messing around with handstands in the foamies just as much. Considering she's only been surfing for 5 years, Sophie's not done bad. She's ranked British #5 already, and surfed France, Spain, Portugal, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, the Maldives, Morocco, Sri Lanka and even New York! She now holds a number of sponsorship deals. Sophie has been awarded a BSA Surf level 1 instructor licence, NARS beach lifeguard qualifications, and a CASI Level 3 snowboard instructing qualification as well (she started out as a snowboarder, and has taught across the U.S.) Hobbies and interests : Good books, foreign films, and chess. |

Born and bred in Cornwall, he has surfed his whole life and coached since he was old enough to work. Alex has travelled the world surfing both competitively and for pleasure. He’s visited California, Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Morrocco, Portugal, France, Ireland, Wales and all over the coastline of England. Qualifications include BSA Level 4 and SLSA Surf Lifesaving Award, so you could not be in better hands than with our Alex. Donnie lives and breathes snowboarding. He’s been boarding for over 18 years and has passed his BASI Level 3 instructor qualification. He’s got 5 years instructing behind him. He has taught at the Snowdome so has had extensive experience coaching beginners. At the tender age of 25 he has also managed to find the time to get a 2:1 degree and captain the university snowboarding club. He has won Scottish freestyle and slalom racing events so if tricks and speed are your bag, you’ve found your man to ride beside! When he’s not riding the white stuff he can be spotted playing the guitar, mountain biking, surfing and cooking.

Jimmy is an full-blooded Aussie (he even has a pet kangaroo called Nibbles) but has decided to call Fuerteventura his home. He loves instructing and has been doing various instructing jobs for 8 years, ranging from swimming, to fitness, to surfing. His love of surfing has taken him round the homely coast of Oz, to France, Spain, England, Portugal & Indonesia. Heavy waves & getting barrelled are Jimmy’s raison d’etre. He's achieved Australian Level 1 Surf Coach, a Sea Kayaking Instructor and a Qualified Personal Trainer, having graduated from the Australian Institute of Fitness.
